Check it folks, we're ba-aack!

Ya'll, Sadie has graduated from Kindergarten, had a heck of a summer, and started first grade, where she is as successful as ever! Here are some of my favorite summer pics. Sadie with our neighbor and her best buddy, Christopher. Sadie at the zoo water fountains, and Sadie holding her brand new cousin, Sienna Layne!

Bet on it

Here are Sadie and Finley- dancing cousins extraordinaire! Watch them strut their stuff in a rendition of Zac Efron's "Bet on it." This is just the best...

Sadie dances...

Sadie was really looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa's 40th anniversary party, but as you can see, she tuckered out! She had a great time staying in the hotel, celebrating cousin, Finley's, 3rd birthday, swimming, and obviously dancing.

Sadie meets Liam and Lily

Sadie and Mommy's friends, Nate and Kelley, had two beautiful babies that Sadie fell in love with the moment she saw them. Sadie really thought it was hilarious when Lily "tooted" and never wanted to put her down. After meeting them, she did such a good job that Nate and Kelley invited Sadie and Mom over to do some babysitting! Lily fell fast asleep in Sadie's arms- she had the magic touch!

Schaper Sled Party: Round 2

Today was the 2nd Schaper Sled Party Sadie has attended... and what a day! Last year it was 20 below zero. This year: beautiful! Sadie and mom went down the hill together- and totally rolled and biffed at the end. Mom raced Becky- and won! Sadie had much more success going down by herself and with her newly-made friend, Anna. When worn-out, it was time for a trip inside to eat chili (4 "heats"). Mom had the spiciest. Sadie had the mildest. With full stomachs and mittens full of snow, we left the Schaper hill thankful to have good friends and a glorious winter day!

Christmas

Christmas this year with Sadie was so fun. Six is the perfect age for Santa, and presents, and grandmas and grandpas, and cousins, and eating, and playing, and of course, for enjoying the winter wonderland!

Sadie first celebrated Christmas at her Great-Grandma B's house on Saturday the 19th of December. See all the fun she had?

Then, Sadie and I drove to Waseca on Wednesday, right after school and we were glad we did, as the roads were starting to get bad! We liked it there so much, we ended up staying until Monday! :)

We went to church, left cookies and milk for Santa, (closed the doors to our bedroom very tightly... she wanted Santa to come, but not in her room, apparently!)opened presents, watched movies, ate awesome prime rib and sinful potatoes, and enjoyed time with our family. (We also played a LOT of Wii. Sadie bowled a 202 in her second game ever, and Hannah, Sadie and I got pret-ty good at High School Musical Dance Off!)

Then, when the weather cleared a bit, we drove to Sioux Falls to eat a lovely meal with the Skanckes. The girls had a wonderful time and the adults played Demon!

Sadie's Snowy Sixth

On her ACTUAL birthday, Sadie was snowed in with Mom, Cassie, and Finley. NO SCHOOL! It was rather lovely, because we all got to sleep in and play in the morning. Then Sadie got to choose her favorite restaurant for lunch. The Olive Garden! For her birthday treat, she got a minty platter with a candle in the middle. Yummy! Finley must have been starving, because she ate every last bite of spaghetti in her bowl, and Sadie had a field day with the salad and breadsticks! Before we left, we got a photo opportunity, and as you can see, the girls put on their silliest smiles!
