Haircut

I need to mention that Sadie recently endured a four-day haircut, which was wrapped up with Grandma working some magic. Mommy found out that it's not easy to get a straight cut when your subject is mugging it up in the mirror. But she loves it at any rate- and I think it's adorable. She's adorable.

Putting a Wrench in Things

Here she is, testing out future vocations! She was having so much fun playing with her toolbox, she didn't even know I took the first pictures.

Sadie is having a blast back at daycare and doing lots of swimming at the indoor pool at Lifetime. Her grandma also bought her a bicycle at a garage sale and Grandpa raced out and bought training wheels and a horn for it. She's not too sure about the shakiness... she still kind of wants to ride her tricycle!

Jesus Loves Sadie

Sadie had a big day today... her first day of Sunday School! I tried to prepare her for it as the weekend progressed, and finally she asked me, "Mom, what IS Sunday School?" I told her it would be a lot like daycare and that she would have new friends, make things and learn about Jesus. She thought it would probably be okay. She was pretty apprehensive as we arrived at Lutheran Church of Christ the Redeemer this morning. I sat with her and all the kids. We played a name game, and talked about "blessings," since later in the morning we would be blessing the new addition to the church. When the teacher, Jane, asked the kids who were blessings to them, Sadie raised her hand and said, "My cousin Finley!" It was so sweet. We also learned a bible verse and a song written by an LCCR member. Then we went outside with sidewalk chalk and bubbles and played while people arrived for the church celebration and dedication. Cassie, Cam, Finn and Phil met us for the service and we enjoyed the fellowship and beautiful sunshine!

Crafty Little Girl

Sadie was all about arts and crafts this afternoon. She first got out the finger paints and made both her Grandma and Grandpa a beautiful picture. Then she grabbed her Play dough and rolled that around the table for a half an hour before asking for the Wiggles. All that creative energy was too much for her to take. She's sleeping on the couch right now!

The next Gabriella Montez

Sadie was dancing and loudly singing along as Gabriella broke up with Troy Bolton in High School Musical 2. I wondered what was going on, and when I walked in, I saw that she had her microphone, as well. She wouldn't ham it up when I grabbed the camera, but I thought it was precious anyway!

Backyard Summer Fun!

Look at Grandpa Kevin in heaven! Sadie, Phil and I headed to church two Sundays ago and met Uncle Cam, Auntie Cassie and Finners. We decided to have a grill-out feast afterwards and spent the day outside. No rest for the wicked- Phil didn't sit down once, as he was making me, Cam and Grandpa throw him passes. Sadie wasn't too up for the outdoor adventures. She begged to watch HSM 2 for a while, until Grandpa and Grandma broke out the T for Tball. Phil and CASS were on their toes in the field as I acted as batting coach. We had a GREAT day- what a fantastic end to the summer, spending it with the best family in the world!

Sadie's trip to South Dakota

Sadie, Mommy and Grandma took a road trip in August to visit Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Bud. We were REALLY lucky to be joined by cousin Jennie who was back in the area for a bit, and Auntie Gloria as well. Sadie loved modeling her new High School Musical pajamas and was really elated when she got to go to Applebees with her cousins Miranda and Rebecca to eat macaroni and cheese. Birthday cake was yummy for dessert as we celebrated Rebecca's birthday (and Mommy's, too.)

First Day of School '07

Here she is at home after her first day of school on Tuesday. She was happy to be back, to say the least. Sadie woke up with a smile on her face, picked out her outfit, brushed her teeth and sang HSM songs all the way to Kids Count. When I got her out of the car, she grabbed my hand and said, "Momma, I'm so happy to see all of my friends again!" Because I had volleyball after school, I was later than usual, and Heather told me Sadie was a little bit worried about me. One of Sadie's friends, Scottie, said, "It's okay Sadie. I know your mom is coming soon." Talk about a heartbreaker! But volleyball is only for five weeks and it's good money so I hope it will be worth it. Ms. Dawn, her teacher, told me Sadie's "followers" are back and it didn't even take a day. I'm not sure if that's good or bad...

Sadie has been doing a lot lately, mainly "acting" and singing into the mirror. She also really likes how her hair looks after it's blown dry and she's just out of the tub. Phil makes sure to tell her how pretty it looks before she goes to bed. She's also working on making her "S's"- left and right handed!
