Halloween and our Post-Election Joy!

So, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that we are so elated with the results of the election! Sadie, Phil and I got up early on Tuesday and walked across the street, where there was already a line! Sadie went into the booth with me and I showed her where Mr. Barack Obama's name was and how I voted for him. Then, when I picked Sadie up after school, Ms. Candy, Sadie's teacher, told me, "Sadie told me who you voted for- and I told her 'That's who I'm voting for, too!'" Yay! Then, we raced home, put on our Obama gear, and watched the returns, with my cell phone going off every two seconds with messages from friends and family! My school district had a BIG referendum question on the ballot, (actually two) and I had been door knocking for it the weekend before and was a little nervous about the possible outcome. (In the end, one question passed and one failed). It was still a very good day for our schools, and it's great to have the community's support in these hard economic times (and mostly Republican area!) Phil and I stayed up to see Obama's speech. We loved it- I cried, and have cried a little yesterday and today too. It's just so exciting and full of hope!

So, with that, here are our Happy Halloween pictures of The Little Mermaid, a little lady bug, and an artist with a uni-brow! Enjoy!

HSM 3 Here We Come!

Well, to take our minds off the stress of the election (and the pumpkin carving!) we took a trip to the movie theater to see High School Musical 3 with Hannah and Philly. (He wouldn't have missed it for the world! Seriously.) We took our popcorn, pop and candy, to our seats and laughed, danced (and yes, I cried) while Troy, Gabriella and the gang prepared to leave East High! It's was so fun, and now we listen to the soundtrack every single solitary morning on our way to daycare and work.

Sadie's Hibachi Dinner

I've been wanting to take Sadie to Benihana or someplace like it for a while, now, so when Hannah was in town, it was a perfect excuse to get the sisters together and try it! It was so adorable to watch her eye up our chef! What a great night, great food, and great family!

Halloween Fun

Here we are, enjoying a visit from Auntie Hannah, campaigning, and celebrating the season! Halloween is one of Mommy's favorite times of year, so it's fun to share with the family. We carved pumpkins for Obama (very impressive, if I do say so myself) and baked pumpkin cookies, too.
