Happy Girl in a Pink Room! (And the work that went into it...)

"My room is PINK!"

Last week, while Sadie was at her dad's for the weekend, Grandma and I decided to remodel Sadie's bedroom. We (sort of sadly) had to remove the adorable crayon marks on the wall before painting it "Goodnight, Princess" pink. Then, we went nuts rubbing princess borders as a chair rail. It took us two days, but we finally finished, and told Sadie there was a surprise awaiting. She guessed, "A Barbie?" We said it was better. When she opened the door to her room she exclaimed, "My room is PINK!" Even better was that the next day, Auntie Cassie made good on her birthday promise and painted some more Disney characters on the wall, including Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Jaq, Chip and some Cinderella birds, as well as a dreamy message for our Princess in Training. (This, however, took a few days, as Cassie was struggling with illness. We didn't mind. Perfection takes time.) It is absolutely amazing, and once again, Sadie is reminded every night as she says her prayers just how many people adore her.

Two Princesses

Sadie got the Cinderella Princess Game for her birthday, and finally got to play it with Phil and me on Sunday! First she dressed him up in all the finest jewels, before finding out it was a game and he had to earn the gems! At any rate, she won the game, and was the first contestant to earn all of her sparklers!

"I'll give you a knuckle-sandwich, you foron!"

Sadie's latest quotable came after watching Annie one too many times! I thought it was good family fun, until she told Phil she'd give him a knuckle sandwich! Then, as they were "play fighting" she yelled, "You foron!" We are quite certain she meant MORON, but we both had to look away to hide our laughter and compose ourselves before telling her it wasn't very nice to call people names. Phil wondered where she got the knuckle sandwich from, and I then remembered that the spunky little red-headed orphan threatens someone with one! When you're Sadie, it's really a "hard-knock life!"

New Camera!

Grandma Brenda went all out, and gave our family a brand new camera for Christmas... even though we told her no gifts after all they have given us this year (and all they've given us PERIOD for that matter!) But here are some of the first shots from the camera! Here we traveled to Baltic and Phil was finally introduced to the Skanckes! We played games, ate AWESOME food, and of course, played Demon!
